Kwame Adu Is At “7%”

Coming off the expressive, collaborative project “Mountain”, Kwame Adu delivers another self-critical and jazzy track with “7%.” The production, though simple, is colorful and composed of heavy drums, an arpeggiating horn line, and a unique Pharrell-esque synth playing near the back of the mix. Kwame portrays his life as a slowly rising artist who can’t make “sense of the love of the pain” that plagues his relationship with music. Stylistic as ever, Kwame litters several metaphors throughout the track. In true form, Kwame is as poignant as he is poetic.
