Lyrics To Go Vol. 3 - [Kota The Friend]

Brooklyn indie artist Kota The Friend just dropped the third project from his Lyrics To Go Series, Lyrics To Go Vol. 3 and it’s been my favorite of the trilogy thus far. As Kota had said earlier, this project tells a story and that’s why this is the only Lyrics To Go project that he considers an album. The deep heartfelt tracks take you through Kota’s life and struggles as an independent artist, being the internet’s scapegoat, facing fear, and so much more. 

The simple lofi production is really where Kota shines, recording his truth proving he can flow on any beat. Kota’s nonchalant flow and ability to make you feel engaged in a conversation with every listen is what keeps him in constant rotation for me and always awaiting the next drop. This is one of my favorite series’ in hiphop, Kota never disappoints and this project is no exception.
