Deante Hitchcock Release 2-Pack “Callin’ All My Children”
Atlanta`s Own Deante Hitchcock gave us a 2 pack titled Callin All My Children Featuring West Side Boogie and BIG K.R.I.T. I have honestly been a fan of this artist ever since he released Wide Open with Gold link. Every song I have heard from him so far has always had a smooth flow that coincides with his beat selection very well. The first song out of this 2 pack Callin Featuring WestSide Boogie and BIG K.R.I.T. . Deante starts off telling a love story about finding a woman before he was famous on a college campus and how they both know that they have options but when the time comes she will drop everything for him.This gave me the vibes of an old school black love story. He repeats this multiple times in the hook “When a real nigga callin”. Going into Westside Boogie verse he explains that he has a guarded heart but eventually a woman comes around that helps him become more in-tune with his spirit. We see Boogie making these points in two lines “My heart was already stone, I was alone and made strong enough to carry all these wrongs'', and “made you think you're the connection to my spirit getting recharged.” Coming into the end of the track with the beatswitch and BIG KRIT distinct southern smooth flow it's a great final touch to this track that replays in my head over and over. He keeps the same theme as both Deante and Boogie, an old school black love story of them sitting in a car making love with one another. This track deserves all the praise because it tells a story that we can all relate to and something that you can play around your significant other.
Subsequently going into the second track of this two pack All My Children this track is an emotional ode to himself about giving himself more credit. This is something that a lot of creatives struggle with, even myself. We have to give ourselves more credit for being able to express ourselves through this art medium. The thing that tugged at my heartstrings the most was him explaining how much he had to risk to make life better for himself, his family and everyone in his circle. In the music business you have to risk everything to make it honestly just because it takes so much to be successful. You have to commend this man for being able to drop out of highschool,raise a family to build his empire. You can tell by his voice cracking throughout the track that he really is putting his soul into every word and is telling a 100 percent true story. This two pack is the type of music that may not get all the clicks and billboard awards but it something that resonates with the listeners which is way more important than any accolade. I am happy to be able to write about this two pack and hope to one meet this artist and his MGMT team. Thankyou for this beautiful set of tracks.
