Phoenix, MESSIAH! And Ahmir Team Up For “Fuck Em”
The high powered trio of Phoenix, MESSIAH! and Ahmir teamed up for their new track titled “Fuck em”. Fuck Em has the nostalgic feel of an old-school cypher where artist would jump in back and forth with each other and feed off of each others energy. We start off the track with Phoenix`s dynamic wordplay and raspy voice that meshes together well with the beat. His verse had a couple of standout lines that make the listener want to listen more to track that being “All a nigga wanna do is live above the law “ which is referenced throughout the track by all three artists, and “Them niggas catching plays but baby i designed the route.” For myself my favorite line was “Them niggas catching plays but baby i designed the route.” We see in music that one artist becomes the blueprint that many other artists follow to become successful. An example of this would be an artist such as Chief Keef.
Transitioning into the second verse MESSIAH! takes a relaxed approach to the beat and has an iconic line that rings in my head over and over again ; “These niggas pancake flip when it time to take a risk they cant handle they business.” Alot of the time businesses do not get off the ground because the collective majority is not ready to take the risk associated with starting a business. About 90 percent of business fail in the first 5 years so you are risking about 5 years of your life on a chance to be successful so people usually leave before the business before it even starts because of the risk associated with it .
Last but not least Ahmir comes with a lyrical onslaught talks about the struggles of just trying to survive this world because the main motive is to flip your bread to make more of it “ Bitch im stuck on cheddar flips because what else is this world about “. He also makes the reference about watching who you have in your circle similar to MESSIAH with the line “ Dirty Money Leave the house cant have no more leeches around “. With these lines and his barrage of lyrics Ahmir closed out the track perfectly to leave the listener wanting more from the trio.
They each did their thing on the track and have the perfect visual to match this old-school south cypher vibe I got from the track. Shoutout to the visual artist Jomir for shooting a great video. Hope to see more from this trio.
