TOB Duke Releases New Single “Poised”

Detroit,MI artist TOB Duke released his second single of 2022 titled Poised. With Heavy 808`s and impenetrable lyrics Duke tells his come-up story and the trials he faced to get his vision to come to light. This sound is reminiscent of artists like Polo G, Talbean Dooda, Fresco Trey and others. The lyrics in Poised allows the listener to take a dive into the story of TOB Duke and what he had to go through as an artist. From learning to not be selfish to having to put friends in situations to test their loyalty Duke has had to do a lot to make sure his vision comes to life and has kept himself poised throughout this journey.

The two lyrics that stood out the most in this track in my opinion were “ I just put them through a situation to see who is the realest” and “had to stop being selfish and start being selfless”. With putting your friends through situations to test loyalty there are times in an artist or artist team journey that you have to make sure everyone is on the same page in the journey and do not have ulterior motives with being a part of the team. Weeding out those people will help your team move faster to your goal. Without being selfish, if you are going to have a team you have to sacrifice things you used to do for the betterment of your team. To win in this game you cannot be selfish and think everything is about you. It takes an army to make it in the music business so weeding people out and sacrifice is necessary to make the journey move forward.
