Mez Makes Return With “Devil Is A Judge”

After a two year hiatus, North Carolina native and common collaborator with Dreamville, TDE, Dr. Dre and others alike, Mez has returned with his new single Devil is a Judge as a Colors Show exclusive. Mez has cemented himself in music history, writing for Dr. Dre’s Compton, directing J. Cole’s Middle Child music video, and much more, but he seems to be aiming to grow his on music, and with past drops such as MF+G, Sunny Side Up, and Loading, Mez has proven to be a top tier lyricist with an amazing ear for unique production and attention grabbing deliveries.

The live vocals aspect of The Colors Show exclusives is always something I enjoy, and a refreshing step back from common studio releases, and Mez’s distinguished voice and melody on this track makes for a relaxing listen. There’s been a lot of legendary lyricists coming out with new projects recently, with Kendrick Lamar, J. Cole, and Joey Bada$$ all having new releases, so it’s great to see Mez make his highly anticipated return as well. Hopefully this is the start of a new line of music for Mez, and if so I can’t wait to hear what’s coming next.
