Solomon Fox Releases New Single “You Piss Me Off”
Solomon Fox’s “You Piss Me Off” is a sweetly crafted message written in frustration. The track’s frenetic, indie guitar riffs and heavy 808 combine in a colorful way, filling out space on the deceivingly simple track. Tiny synths and FX slide their way in as well, sparkling in the mix like firecrackers on a hot summer night. On top of that, Fox attacks the track with stern lyrics but a soft vocal delivery. As a whole, the mood of “You Piss Me Off” is a delicate balance between Solomon’s gentle demeanor and firmly stated anger. Fox crafts this portrait of mature confrontation through phrases such as “I should just walk away, and never look back” or “My minds made up, I’m through with this.” He's set on his message.
All the while, this track is extremely catchy. Akin to a songwriter such as Dominic Fike, Solomon Fox uses elements of pop, indie rock and hip-hop to give the track a glossy sway while maintaining a strong lyrical idea. Solomon’s performance on “You Piss Me Off” is easily one of the best we’ve seen this year. Keep him on your radar, it’s only up from here.
