Nick Diminico Comes Fresh With New Track “COUNTACH”

Mumbling “Get my money long… get my money long…” Nick Diminico is as charismatic as he is relaxed on “COUNTACH.” The most notable single off of Diminico’s new tape “NINTEND<3”, “COUNTACH” is a refreshing take on melody-focused rap. Building off his previous tape Heart Millenium 2000, Diminico blends his sway-heavy production style with cheeky lyrics -”I feel like J. Cole, let me hit it in the morning” -  lush auto-tune, and interesting sound design. 

Diminico’s style works so well on “COUNTACH” because he’s been refining it since before 2017. It’s easy to see influences such as Pierre Bourne, UnoThaActivist, or Carti drip off this track, but Diminco’s slick ability to build a swing-like rhythm into the track makes it stand apart from his colleagues. There’s clarity in his voice, but lightness in his delivery.  “COUNTACH” is loose, and very dance-worthy, but structured over a tight and repetitive drum sequence. 

Sometimes all you really need to know about a track is that it’s wavy, and Nick Diminco captures that on “COUNTACH.” Listen below.
